Introducing our new Manager of the month series, Vanessa Hughes, HR Director, says: “I am delighted to announce that we are extending the Employee of the Month to include a new Managers’ category. This category will capture nominations for our managers to recognise their contribution and achievements. Our first winner is Phil Johnson.”
Phil was nominated for this award by his Deputy Manager, Sophie Holland. The service faced several challenges in 2022, including rapid changes in mobility for one person supported, and four deaths in a very short time span. He steered the service through it all, taking in his stride the induction of his new deputy and settling in of a new person into the home, plus a fantastic Care Inspectorate Wales inspection.
Sophie says: “Phil has always kept his upbeat personality and professionalism, really helping to keep Rogerstone House team together. He is approachable and a credit to our service and team.”
Runner up
Regional Manager Ann-Marie Harris also received a nomination from Phil Johnson. He says: “Ann-Marie has been a fantastic support to me over the last few months. She approachable and always shows compassion and understanding, always at the end of the phone to offer support and guide in the right direction.”
