“Ewelina embodies the qualities of an outstanding manager through her unwavering commitment to person-centered care and her ability to inspire and empower both team members and people we support.” So says her Deputy Manager, Laura Lopez, who nominated her for Manager of the month. Vallance Gardens is home to seven people with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
“I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand Ewelina’s exceptional leadership and the transformative impact she has had on our home,” says Laura. She adds that, since taking on the role of Home Manager, Ewelina has driven significant positive changes. These have elevated the quality of life for people we support and created a more vibrant, engaging environment at Vallance Gardens.
Responding to her award, Ewelina says: “It is an honour to be recognised by my team and I am very grateful. To me, leadership is all about service – to people we support and to my team. It’s deeply gratifying to know that my efforts to serve the team are appreciated.
“Even when the job becomes stressful or challenging, we’ve created an environment where motivation isn’t just top-down but flows in all directions. My team’s resilience and passion inspire me, pushing me to be a better leader and colleague. In turn, I strive to motivate them by recognising their efforts, supporting their growth, and always being there to lend a hand or an ear.”
