The words kindness, compassion and commitment are used by Sayda’s nominators in putting her forward for this award.
In particular, Sayda has demonstrated these wholeheartedly recently in supporting someone experiencing a severe mental health decline. Her manager at DCA West Bromwich, Laura Winmill, describes Sayda’s support for this person as phenomenal, recognising that the situation was beyond Sayda’s comfort zone. Nevertheless, Sayda used her knowledge, understanding and caring nature to meet the person’s needs consistently. Encouraging and prompting him, whilst remaining respectful of his wishes, she supported his wellbeing throughout her shifts. Practice Lead Natalie Walford said: “As a result, this person’s mental health decline wasn’t as prolonged, which is fantastic. It meant that he was able to trust Sayda and her support and engage with her. Well done, Sayda!”
In response to winning, Sayda said: “I am so grateful to be receiving Employee of the month and proud to be part of Achieve together. It is such an honour to feel such appreciation. I would like to thank the people who have nominated me – I truly appreciate the kind words. I will continually try my best to go above and beyond to make my work up to par and keep the wellbeing of people we support in mind.”
Runners up
Kathryn Green Deputy Manager at Supported Living in Caerphilly and Ebony Fox, Deputy Manager at Roseville near Shrewsbury, are joint runners up.

Ebony is a runner up after taking over the reins at Roseville for five months and doing ‘brilliantly’ as acting manager. Not only did she work ‘on the floor’, she maintained all paperwork, events and team probation meetings as well as finding new activities for people supported to try.
