Irram transferred 18 months ago to Birmingham Road, a residential home for six people we support. She immediately settled in getting to know everyone, building good relationships with her team, those she supports, families and professionals. She inherited the home at a time of significant change and faced a body of work designed to vastly improve the organisations ways of recording and reporting as new systems were implemented.
Within three months, she had reviewed and updated all the support plans, and benchmarked these using internal audit processes, resulting in exceptional scores with minimal change required.
In 2023, the home underwent a formal internal audit and again it overachieved the high benchmark Irram had set herself and her team. Whilst using this as a moment of celebration with her team and everyone supported, Irram also then saw this as a challenge: identifying and addressing any gaps that affected the rating.
Regional Manager Indi Johal wanted to recognise Irram as an outstanding manager by nominating her for Manager of the month, and said: “At Birmingham Road, people we support to lead fulfilling lives, engaging in activities like tending to allotments, dancing, fitness, and arts and crafts. Irram’s leadership fosters camaraderie and mutual appreciation among housemates, enriching their lives.
“I am truly in awe of Irram’s dedication and determination. Without her contributions, the lives of everyone at Birmingham Road would not be as enriched as they are today.”
