Jack was nominated by his Deputy Manager for his willingness and ability to support a person during a spell in hospital. Liam says: “Jack ensured that he understood the ins and outs of the new needs of this person. He picked up loads of extra night shifts, which he normally does not do. His incredible willingness, plus his ability, ensured that this person was as comfortable as possible.”
Jack has continued a high level of excellence of care in his work. He asks about new care plans, guidelines and other subjects showing initiative in planning how best to support in the home. He is also praised for his positive attitude. Liam describes him as someone ‘who is always seeking to make the home a place that is, happy and full of laughter for people we support’.
He adds: “It is a great joy and pleasure to work with Jack.”
Of his award win, Jack says: “Sometimes when we are out in the community, members of the public will say some really nice things and tell us what a good job we’re doing. Receiving Employee of the Month felt a little like that. It feels amazing to be recognised for the effort we put in, but feels even better to know that what we provide for people we support is truly making their lives better.”
