Elaine was chosen for her dedication and the support she has provided to one individual who faced a tough battle with cancer. Elaine has developed a very close bond with this person and helped her with the very intense treatment she was undergoing.

Ongoing health concerns for this individual meant that no one was sure that she would get the holiday that she so desperately needed, but Elaine made it happen. She knew this individual was having such a difficult time and needed something to lift her spirits and supported her to have this break away. This proved to be  just the medicine needed, and the individual returned in high spirits, with a positive attitude and ready to battle on.

Elaine has championed for this person in so many ways. In the hospital, she ensured that her voice was heard and that she was listened to and spoken to, not about, by the professionals and has gone above and beyond in her help and support despite the challenging circumstances.
