About this home

This 24-hour supported living home for adults with a traumatic or non-traumatic acquired brain injury and/or varying degrees of cognitive, physical, behavioural and emotional difficulties.

We offer a personalised package of care, which often includes clinical and occupational therapy input to meet the needs of each person we support and provide a pathway to greater independence following rehabilitation where possible. There is also access to sports therapy, should this be desired.

The support is outcome-focused, supporting people to achieve their goals, participate in meaningful activities and become more self-sufficient through building on their skills. We can also continue with previously established rehabilitation goals and strategies and, where required, adjust these or develop new ones.

What we offer

The property is a large detached house with spacious surroundings that is divided into three separate areas, Wadham, Gresham and Pembroke, with up to six people in each. All bedrooms are single occupancy, and 13 of them have private toilets and sinks, and others have en-suites.

There are communal facilities so people can socialise with others, including a lounge, kitchen, a spacious garden with multiple levels, and an activities room. There are also shared bathrooms and laundry areas.

The rooms on the 1st floor are larger in size and can be accommodated as bedsits to enable individuals to practice more independent living in a safe environment. People hold their own tenancy with the Landlord.

Lifestyle

People at this home lead active lives and take part in a variety of activities that help them increase life and social skills as well as confidence with the ideology, where possible, to support people back into a community-based setting independently or with the support of our step down support system or outreach care.

This home is a sociable and busy home. People can relax in the games room with a pool table or table tennis, as well as a karaoke machine. People at this home enjoy weekly get-togethers and have Friday takeaway nights and Sunday roast dinners together.

People are supported to access both paid and voluntary work to help grow their independence.

The home holds many social events throughout the year, such as a coffee morning raising money for Macmillan cancer research. They have taken part in the Hats for Headway Day, where they raised money and used their most creative hat-making skills.
