This is a supported living home for adults with moderate learning disabilities, mental health needs and complex needs, including behaviours that may challenge. The team use a person-centred planning approach, which is tailored towards each person supported with a clear emphasis on their involvement and inclusion.

People are supported to develop life skills so as to increase their independence, as well as encouraging their engagement in a full range of social activities to develop their communication and social skills.

What we offer

This large property has three en-suite bedrooms, including a ground floor room with an en-suite wet room for people who may have a physical disability, a room with an adjacent separate bathroom and a self-contained bedsit on the first floor. It also has a spacious communal lounge and kitchen ideal for socialising.

The self-contained annexe has three en-suite bedrooms with a shared kitchen, lounge and bathroom. Both the main building and the annexe have large double doors which open onto large gardens, which are perfect for events and activities. People are supported to be more self-sufficient by getting involved in growing their own vegetables.

The separate chalet at the bottom of the garden is used as a ‘next step’ apartment for those that are more independent. It is a single occupancy chalet with its own entrance and garden.

Lifestyle

People are supported to take part in a range of leisure activities that will increase social, communication and independence skills.

They include activities such as day centre visits, gardening, swimming, baking and cooking classes, and English and math workshops.

The home holds regular events, such as the healthy eating workshop, where people learn how to develop a balanced diet, which encourages people to try new foods. Many people come to the home with a high level of support needs; however, many have gained independence, and some have progressed in to live independently as a result.
