About this home

Cloverdale House is a 24-hour residential home supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism spectrum conditions.

The home supports individuals to achieve their goals, participate in activities and become more self-sufficient, building on their skills. We provide a person-centred approach that takes into account the choice, needs and wishes of the people supported, coupled with their own desired outcomes.

Each person has an individual activity plan tailored around their likes and dislikes to ensure that they participate in meaningful activities and become as independent as possible.

What we offer

Cloverdale House is a large property with 11 bedrooms spread across three floors, all with their own en-suite bathroom facilities. One of the bedrooms acts as a self-contained flat, with its own kitchen and lounge area for more independent living.

People have their own space; however, they can socialise with others in the communal areas that include a dining room, a large living room with access to the garden, a large kitchen and laundry room.

The home has a large garden, which is used often for leisure activities and barbecues in the summer, as well as a sensory cabin.

Lifestyle

At Cloverdale House, activities include arts and crafts sessions, sensory sessions, and aromatherapy sessions. Cloverdale also supports individuals to gain independent living skills in cooking, shopping and doing their laundry.

The home supports people to obtain work placements and education. One person currently works in a local florist four days a week, and another at a local charity shop five days a week. Additionally, one person is currently attending several colleges, including Northbrook College in Worthing, which offers specialised, year-long courses.

Cloverdale regularly holds events for people to get involved with, such as the recent pink coffee morning that raised money for breast cancer awareness. Other events include a sports day event where everyone participated in egg and spoon races and sack races and enjoyed a great buffet.

Cloverdale recently got involved in a scarecrow competition where a number of services had to decorate their own scarecrow, which was great fun.
