About this home

This is a 24-hour, supported living home for adults with autism spectrum conditions, moderate learning disabilities, mental health needs, complex needs including behaviours that may challenge, restricted mobility and epilepsy.

This home provides one-to-one support for specific individual needs. Our person-centred approach enables us to focus on supporting people who, whilst they have the potential for independent living, nevertheless need practical help and guidance to enable them to lead the life they choose.

We can also offer short term, emergency and respite placements. Our aim is to support individuals to achieve their goals by delivering a high-quality service based on active support. Each individual has access to outcome-based activities and has an on-site activities coordinator, so each person will have an individual profile of activities and opportunities.

What we offer

This home is a traditional 19th-century Welsh farmstead that has been converted to provide a range of separate households with modern interiors. With stunning views of the Dysynni Valley, this rural setting offers peace and tranquillity.

This home has a large garden/outside space for people to socialise with others if they wish.

Individuals hold their own tenancies at this home and are supported to maintain these in preparation for eventual step-down into the community if and when that is considered appropriate.

The home is just a short bus ride away from local amenities such as a train station, leisure centre with a pool, the beach, cinema, medical centre and shops.

Lifestyle

At this home individuals can take part in a wide range of activities including gardening, shopping, swimming, cookery and bowling to name a few. The home also hosts regular themed food nights so people can learn about and taste different international cuisine. Foods such as curry, Chinese food and various Mexican food including nachos were served across the themed nights and everyone thoroughly enjoyed this new experience.

The home has taken part in many group activities such as an orienteering activity course at CMC Adventure which included map reading and climbing. Additionally, some people took part in a charity cycle ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats to raise money for MIND which was a great success and raised £117.

There are also a number of seaside resorts such as Barmouth and Aberdyfi which are easily accessible and further afield trips to resorts such as Blackpool.
