About this home

Cerrig Camu is a 24-hour residential home supporting adults with autism spectrum conditions, moderate learning disabilities, severe learning disabilities, acquired brain injury, mental health needs and/or complex needs, including behaviours that may challenge.

We support people with complex needs to achieve their full potential by utilising the person-centred, active support model of care. This enables people supported to become more independent and learn new life skills. People benefit from bespoke support plans, activities and a monthly reviewing system which exceeds industry standards.

What we offer

Cerrig Camu is set in a stunning country estate just outside the historic market town of Dolgellau.

The property comprises of a large main building which has fourteen bedrooms across three floors, some with en-suites. The ground floor has recently been re-developed into a distinct four-bed service in its own right. There are communal areas for when people want to socialise with others, including a dining area and lounge.

Additionally, there are three further cottages with their own staff teams. There is a resource centre on site which individuals can use to develop independent living skills.

Lifestyle

People will have individually tailored activity plans so they have access to a wide range of activities such as horse riding, trips to local cinemas, shopping destinations, swimming, sensory room sessions, beaches and trips to the zoo. There are also various events in the community, such as a Halloween-themed Bingo. Onsite entertainment includes barbecues, bingo, tea parties and seasonal festivities.

There has been various events at the service, such as a pirate-themed tea party in order to raise money for Shelter Cymru. There were a variety of different activities going on, which included face painting, a treasure hunt and even a pirate-themed photo booth with all of the appropriate props. Everyone enjoyed taking part in the fun and games, and there was also a small cake sale, which included tray bakes, vegan brownies and mini cheesecakes.

Individuals are supported to obtain work and volunteer placements, such as Julie, who volunteers for the Red Cross and has been awarded a certificate for 15 years of service as a volunteer at the charity shop.
